Who We Are

At Anchor City Church in Hutto, we are anchored to Christ and lighting our city. That’s more than a slogan. It’s the heartbeat of who we are. We’re not just a place to attend on Sundays. We’re a family, a movement, and a community committed to making a real impact both inside and outside the church walls.

Everything we do flows from our belief that Jesus changes lives. Our mission is to help people become fully devoted followers of Christ, anchored in truth, empowered by the Spirit, and passionate about reaching others. We gather every Sunday to worship, pray, and be encouraged by God’s Word. But what matters most is how we live it out the rest of the week.

At Anchor City Church in Hutto, you’ll find people from all walks of life. Singles, families, lifelong believers, and those just exploring faith come together to grow, serve, and walk in purpose. We believe the local church should be a light in the community. We want to meet practical needs, stand for truth, and create space for people to encounter the presence of God.

We are committed to raising up disciples, equipping leaders, serving our neighbors, and reaching those who feel far from God. Whether it’s through our worship gatherings, small groups, kids and youth ministries, or local outreach efforts, we want every person to experience the hope, joy, and transformation found in Jesus.

Whether you’re new to church or looking for a place to belong, there’s a spot for you at Anchor City Church in Hutto. Come as you are, get anchored in Jesus, and help us light up this city with His love.

OUR VISION

We are anchored to Christ and lighting our city.

OUR MISSION

We exist to grow deeper in Christ, follow the Holy Spirit’s leading, build genuine community, and bring hope to our city by sharing the love of Jesus in everything we say and do.

Our Beliefs

Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind, and atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1, 14, 20:28; I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6)

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal. (I John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; Hebrews 3:7-11; Isaiah 9:6)

The Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible, and inerrant. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26)

The Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the unifying power between God and humanity, and is the source of our comfort, guidance, and strength. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand and appreciate the Bible, and helps us to live out its teachings in our lives. We believe that the Holy Spirit is with us always, faithfully guiding us in our walk with God. We also believe that the Holy Spirit gives us gifts such as wisdom, knowledge, understanding, healing, miracles, tongues, and prophecy so that we can be used to serve God and spread His love. (Joel 2:28- 29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4; 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47) (Hebrews 2:4; Ephesians 4:16; I Timothy 4:14; II Timothy 1:6-7; I Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40)

Man was created to live sinlessly and in unity with God, for God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” However, through voluntary transgression, man fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Genesis 1:26,27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19).

Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, then died on the cross on our behalf as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. In order to receive forgiveness and a fresh start with God, we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus as Lord, and commit to His will for our lives as we obey all that He commands. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22)

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together as we are instructed in the Scriptures. The church is where we have a family of families, living in obedience to Christ. We do this by learning from His word, singing praises to Him, and praying with and for each other, bearing one another's burdens. (Ephesians 1:22; 2:19- 22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23)

Our Church...

We are committed to living lives that honor Christ in every action and word. As a church, we dedicate ourselves to serving God wholeheartedly, recognizing that our everyday actions are a form of worship and an offering to God. (Romans 12:1, Colossians 3:17)

We embrace worship as a profound way to connect with God, doing so with our entire being—spirit, mind, and body. In our gatherings, we strive to worship in both spirit and truth, creating a genuine and heartfelt space where everyone can encounter God personally. (Psalm 95:6, John 4:23-24)

We believe in the strength of community. Our commitment extends beyond attending services; we engage deeply with one another through teaching, fellowship, shared meals, and prayer. This devotion helps us build a supportive and nurturing environment where all members feel valued and connected. (Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:24-25)

We prioritize discipleship as a core mission, understanding that our growth as followers of Christ involves not only learning but also teaching. We actively work to equip each other so that everyone can partake in spreading the teachings of Jesus and nurturing new disciples. (Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Timothy 2:2)

We recognize our struggles are not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. As a church, we arm ourselves with the whole armor of God, standing firm in our faith and supporting each other through prayer and godly living to overcome spiritual challenges. (2 Corinthians 10:3-4, Ephesians 6:12-13)

Prayer is fundamental to our identity as believers. We engage in continuous prayer, understanding it as a powerful means of grace. Together, we rejoice, give thanks, and bring our needs and the needs of others before God, knowing that He is faithful to hear us. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Philippians 4:6-7)

We are a generous community, giving freely and joyfully as an expression of our faith and love for God and each other. Our giving is not out of obligation but from hearts that are cheerful and eager to support God’s work and help those in need. (2 Corinthians 9:7, Acts 20:35)

We are guided by the Holy Spirit, intentionally pausing in our activities and decisions to wait for His direction. As a church, we commit to being still before the Lord, trusting that the Holy Spirit will reveal God’s will and timing. This act of waiting is not passive but an active, spiritual posture where we listen for His guidance and prepare to follow His lead. (Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 37:7)

We understand that actions alone are not sufficient to fully communicate the message of the Gospel. While we strive to demonstrate the love of Christ through our deeds, we also emphasize the importance of proclaiming the Gospel with our words. As a church, we commit to pairing our actions with clear, compassionate communication about the hope and transformation found in Jesus, ensuring that our witness is complete and effective. (Matthew 28:19-20, 1 John 3:17-18)

We are committed to practical expressions of love and kindness. As a community, we actively look for opportunities to do good and share our resources, knowing that these acts of service please God and reflect His love to the world. (Proverbs 19:17, Hebrews 13:16)
